Pears & Blinds

Title: Pears & Blinds

Oil on panel

Size: 8 × 8 inches

It was another step in working through grief by changing how I approached painting. Trying a different style gave me a way to stay engaged with the process when motivation felt low and direction felt unclear.

Using familiar forms allowed the focus to stay on exploration rather than outcome. The contrast between the pears and the structured lines of the blinds created a shift in rhythm, offering something new to respond to while still working within a comfortable subject.

This piece reflects the role experimentation played in helping me move forward. It is about using variation and curiosity as a way out of emotional stillness.
